The Hikone Child Development Support Center, called Jidō Hattatsu Shien Center in Japanese, provides consultation and support services related to child development for families with young children in special circumstances or with special needs.

This center works in tandem with public health nurses,healthcare providers, daycare facilities, educational institutions, labor organizations, and other relevant agencies.

Anyone supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, as well as individuals with developmental disabilities and their family members, is welcome to contact the center for the following services.

 

Available Services at the Center

  • Consultation for child development, home environment issues, childcare facilities, school-related matters, etc.
  • Support for language development, including speech development (for children aged 0 through preschool age)
  • Developmental Evaluation Services, etc. (for individuals from age 0 through adulthood)

Developmental assessment tests will be conducted if needed.If you wish to request a child development consultation for children under 4 years old, please first contact the Hikone Mother and Child Welfare Division by phone at 0749-24-3931 or in person.

Operating Hours of the Center

9:00 AM to 4:45 PM on the weekday, except on national holidays and during the year-end and New Year holiday period.

How to Request a Consultation

  • Please note that anyone wishing to request a developmental assessment must schedule an appointment with the center.
  • All personal information provided during consultations will be kept strictly confidential. Each consultation is offered at no cost.

Support Classes for Children with Developmental Disabilities and Their Families

ASUNARO

This group provides support for children with developmental disabilities and their families.

TSUBOMI

This group provides activities that support children with developmental disabilities and their families in building healthy relationships together.

Support Coordination Office MEBAE

This office provides assistance to children with developmental disabilities and their families to help them access welfare services available under the Child Welfare Act.
