Hikone Partnership Oath System
The city of Hikone initiated the Partnership Oath System on 2021, October 1st with a view to encouraging understanding of sexual minorities and improving their ability to take part in society where each Hikone resident embraces diverse individuality and values.
Who Can Make A Partnership Oath Under This System?
Those who meet all the following conditions.
- Both or either partners must belong to sexual minorities
- Neither partners must be residents of Hikone City
- Both neither must be married nor in a partnership with other individuals.
- Both must not be in a kinship that precludes marriage in accordance with the Civil Code, with the exception of the case that they are in adoptive kinship
- Both must be adults.
What Will Happen Once The Partnership Oath Is Accepted?
Various Government Services Can Be Offered!
An application for the certificate of ambulance transportation, an application for the disaster certificate (fire), an application for city-run housing, receiving consolation payments for families of deceased crime victims.
Various Services Can Be Offered By Private Sectors!
An application for a discounted family cell phone plan, receiving life insurance benefits, being considered a person equivalent to a spouse when taking out a mortgage.
