Notice about the One-off Cash Benefits

Please be notified that a cash handout of 30,000 yen is set to be provided to households exempt from fiscal year 2024 resident tax under the Japanese government's economic policy.
An additional 20,000 yen per child will be added to the cash benefit for eligible households with children aged under 18 years.

2. Confirmation Form・Application Form

There are three different types of notice(A,B,C) regarding the cash handout program.

Ensure to check which type of notice you have received.

A

As outlined below, the cash benefit amount will be deposited directly into the pre-registered bank account.

In your case, there is no need to complete any addtional procedures.
With that said, if any of the conditions No.1 to No.3 listed below apply to your household, be sure to call the Hikone Call Center for Special Temporary Cash Handout Programs by 4:45 PM on Friday, March 4, 2025.

 

[Important Notes]

If any of the conditions No.1 to No.3 listed below apply to your household, you are required to complete the necessary procedures by March 4, 2025. 

1. If the cash benefit payment cannot be provided if your household: 

*Beware that if you obtain the benefit payment by providing fraudulent and/or misleading information,  you may face legal charges for benefit fraud.

  ・Has a member who is subject to fiscal 2024 Kintowari (head tax) resident tax.

 ・Has a member who already received the cash benefit payment from another municipality under the same One-off Cash Benefits Program. 

 ・Has a member who is exempt from taxes under the tax treaty. 

 ・Is financially reliant on someone, such as parents, who is subject to resident tax.

*To cite an example, a university student living alone and financially depending on his/her parents, tax-exempt parents financially supported by their child subject to resident tax, and those who joined the workforce in 2024, live alone, and are no longer covered by their parents' social security plans, are not eligible for this cash benefits program. If you are not sure, please consult with your family members or reach out to the call center at the number below. 

2. If your household wants to renounce the eligibility to receive the cash benefit payment. 

3. If you want to use a different bank account to receive the cash benefit payment. 
    (*If your surname has changed due to marriage, you need to update )

 

*No notice regarding the completion of the benefit payment will be mailed. Please update your bankbook to confirm if the payment has been deposited.

Please submit the confirmation form along with a photocopy of your bankbook or bank card and your photo identification by May 30 (Fri). 
If we do not receive your household's submission by the deadline, your household will be automatically considered to have withdrawn from the One-off Cash Benefits Program.
To avoid this, ensure that you submit the form and other required documents well in advance of the deadline.

 

[Eligibility Criteria] Households, that meet all the following criteria, qualify for the one-off cash benefit payment.  

1.All household members must be exempt from fiscal 2024 resident tax, including Kintowari (head tax) resident tax. 

2. Households that are not eligible for any cash benefits from other municipalities under the same and similar programs. 

3. No household members are exempt from taxes under the tax treaty. 

4. Households that are not financially supported by someone subject to resident tax.  

*To cite an example, a university student living alone and financially depending on his/her parents, tax-exempt parents financially supported by their child subject to resident tax, and those who joined the workforce in 2024, live alone, and are no longer covered by their parents' social security plans, are not eligible for this cash benefits program. If you are not sure, please consult with your family members or reach out to the call center at the number below.

Having received this notice means that your house may qualify for the cash benefit payment. Therefore, your household is now required to confirm whether your household is eligible for the cash benefit payment, and if eligible, please complete the application form (C2), and submit it along with other requirements, such as a photocopy of proof of your bank account, and so on by May 30 (Fri), 2025. If your address as of January 1, 2024 was outside Hikone City, you are required to submit your fiscal 2024 tax certificate.

[Required Documents]

Please submit all the following documents in the mail. 

(A) The Application From for the Cash Benefits Program (Form C2) 

(B) A Photocopy of Proof of A Bank Account 

(C) A Photocopy of the Householder's Identification 

(D) A Fiscal 2024 Tax Certificate  *Necessary only if your registered address as of January 1, 2024 was outside Hikone City. 

*If you hire a legal representative to receive your cash benefit payment, no power of attorney is required. However, you will be required to submit a certificate of registered matters and your representative's identification. 

 

 *No notice regarding the completion of the benefit payment will be mailed. Please update your bankbook to confirm if the payment has been deposited.
